Frequently Asked Questions

1. Who can apply for the ENSA-program?

ENSA accepts all secondary schools, supporting associations, PTOs and NGOs that work together with secondary schools as applicants for their funding.

2. When is the deadline for my application?

The application period ends in the autumn of each year for funding in the following year.

3. When will we know whether we will be funded?

The decision as to which projects are funded is made at the beginning of each year.

4. Which students are funded by ENSA?

The program approaches students from 15 to 24 years of age from all secondary schools in Germany and in developing or transitional countries.

5. How will you support our project?

ENSA financially promotes individual exchanges with up to 10.000 Euros annually as well as with two seminars in addition to your own preparation.

6. Do the participants have to pay anything?

We expect the participants to provide their own contribution of at least 30 %.

7. Which countries can we choose from?

The educational exchange and its related projects require partners from developing or transitional states in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Southeast Europe.

8. What kind of project are you looking for?

ENSA thinks globally and is trying to build a sustainable, long-term network. It is of great importance that the exchange leads to a long-term educational connection or partnership. We expect students, schools and NGOs from Germany and abroad to work together as one on the content and activities of a project, which should aim at sparking a lasting interest in young adults worldwide in the understanding of global development.

9. How do I prepare myself as an applicant?

Over the fixed period of the exchange you accept responsibility in content and in arrangements. You will assist students from Germany and abroad in preparation and planning, administrate the projects financial management, flight reservations and possibly vaccinations and visa. You will conduct preparation and follow-up seminars with the help of experienced trainers working for ENSA. Upon completion of the project you are responsible for preparing and sending all necessary evidence to the ENSA office.
